We are so happy that our last big roadtrip before We are so happy that our last big roadtrip before the pandemic brought us to New Zealand. Still hanging on to memories for those incredible weeks. And we're pretty excited to book our next flight. Where ever it may take us ... and whenever this will be ... Until then, stick to cool memories, like the ones from Fjordland Nationalpark on New Zealands South Island.
How we miss those aurora nights at Lofoten... You How we miss those aurora nights at Lofoten... You too?
It's probably not the most creative rooftop viewpo It's probably not the most creative rooftop viewpoint you can get in New York, but anyway still one of the best from the top of Rockefeller Center you've got an amazing view over Central Park in the north and Manhattan in the south.
Usually pretty crowded, but it's worth going up there. We had been there twice in a day: Morning and Evening / Sunset. If you only have the chance to go up there once: take the sunset. Seeing the lights of the city going on during dusk is fantastic. A view to remember forever.
And this is probably also what all those boys thought, who asked their girl friends on top of the Rockefeller, if they would marry them: Cool scenery. And I mean, she almost cannot say "no" in this setting!
But anyhow: you shouldn't forget about the sunset. It's pretty amazing ... even without a ring and all those fancy stuff.
No Northern Lights, no Milky Way or Shooting Stars No Northern Lights, no Milky Way or Shooting Stars. But still an incredible experience with light. And you can interact and play with these lights and create your own set of stars ...

When we headed for the Sustenpass on a Sunday morn When we headed for the Sustenpass on a Sunday morning, it was still foggy and a little bit rainy in Andermatt. Well, let's call it somehow moody. The drive up to Sustenpass is, in our eyes, one of the most enjoyable roads in all of Switzerland, especially on an early Sunday morning when not many other cars are around. But, the best mountain pass is only half as good, if you drive all the way in fog and clouds, that are becoming thicker and thicker the higher you get. When you're on the top of Sustenpass, you cross through a tunnel to the other side of the mountain. And just as we passed the tunnel, the clouds broke up for a couple of minutes and revealed the beauty of this place. A place, that we will definitely return in better weather...

We had an incredible week on the Lofoten Islands. We had an incredible week on the Lofoten Islands. Hiking and drone-flying during the day, chasing auroras at night. We will never forget those nights when you are waiting for northern lights, you see some glowing in the distance, the sky full of stars and suddenly an arch of green light starts building up right above our heads. It gets more and more intense. To see it changing its shape, getting stronger and sometimes even changing colours was awesome. And after some time it vanishes again and the night seems as if nothing had ever been there.
Once you think of autumn foliage most people would Once you think of autumn foliage most people would probably have pictures if colorful forests, blue lakes and sunny skies from New England in the U.S. in their minds. When we planned our trip to Japan, we didn't have the japanese autumn foliage in mind. We knew about the cherry blossom in spring, but those colours in the Japanese autumn really blew our minds. The colours in the forests had been phenomemal and the combination of japanese temples and coloured leaves in Kyoto had been like nothing we had seen before. We haven't been to Japan in spring so far, but we would definitely choose autumn again for our next trip.
We had been on a pretty nice hike around Rosengart We had been on a pretty nice hike around Rosengarten in the heart of the Dolomites, when we first heard of the saga of King Laurin and we learned how these mountains here in the Rosengarten were created and why they got their name "Rosengarten". It's just one of the many myths connected to places in the Dolomites. It feel like in a fairy tale ... But honestly, we didn't see any dwarfs or unicorns on our trip ... well, maybe next time ...
Sometimes you don't have to travelfar for amazing Sometimes you don't have to travelfar for amazing moments ... just stay up late and enjoy the show
We spent, once again, some relaxing days on the La We spent, once again, some relaxing days on the Lago di Como, one of our favorite lakes in the north of Italy. In fact, this lake is one of the few spots we return to regularly for years. Whether it's for hiking, visiting some nice villages and villas or just hanging around for some days.
The last time we had been there for hiking. After a pretty cool day in the mountains, we returned to Bellagio and waited at the little "harbour" for the boat that would bring us back to our hotel.
